Sailing Clubs in Brisbane and Moreton Bay

Brisbane and Moreton Bay include club records on the river, the eastern bayside and the northern bay. Choose a departure area you can reach regularly before comparing activities. The YouSail list below includes selected Brisbane, bayside and nearby suburbs; it does not imply every club sails on the same water or offers the same experience.

River, eastern bayside and northern bay locations#

Compare the source profiles for Brisbane Sailing Squadron, Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and Moreton Bay Boat Club. These are location examples drawn from YouSail, not a ranked shortlist.

Choosing a suitable first sailing activity#

Describe the activity you want: a lesson, supervised practice, casual crewing or a club race. Those requests lead to different contacts. Ask whether boats and personal equipment are included, whether membership is needed first, and what happens if the date changes.

A planned local session should not be assumed to have the same requirements as a longer passage. Use the first crew briefing checklist to agree your role and the arrangements with the skipper.

Compare membership and boat access separately#

Owning a boat, crewing and taking a course are separate participation models. A membership fee may not include boat use, storage or race entry. Ask for the written arrangement you would actually join and compare the full season using the cost guide.

For trailerable boats, investigate launching and parking before deciding where to keep the boat. The storage and launching guide provides a practical checklist.

Brisbane and Moreton Bay coverage#

Records are selected using YouSail's state and suburb fields. A listing is not evidence of current places in a program. Broaden the search with the Queensland directory or compare the separate Gold Coast guide.
