Sailing Club Data Verification & Ranking Policy

YouSail is the source of club records displayed on SailingClubs.com.au. We import club identities, locations, contacts, categories, photos and available profile information from that database. We do not maintain a competing set of club facts in the editorial guides.

What the dates mean#

YouSail data imported is the date this site received a snapshot. It is not a claim that a club or editor rechecked every field that day.

A source record may contain its own update date or a season attached to a particular field. Those dates have a different meaning from an import. An affiliation labelled with a previous season should not be read as confirmation of the current season.

Editorially reviewed applies to the explanatory article. It does not verify the current fees, availability or programs of clubs mentioned or linked from it.

Missing and broad information#

“Not verified” means the imported record does not confirm that field. It does not mean the facility or activity is absent. Ask about the arrangement relevant to your visit.

Some source categories are broad: “Dinghy” is a boat family, and “Yacht Club” is an organisation description. Neither confirms a particular active class fleet. We display these as categories reported by YouSail.

Older profile writing and current facts#

Some club profiles include older descriptive writing supplied through YouSail alongside structured source fields. The page identifies this material separately. It can contain season-specific details that differ from another part of the record.

Where you encounter a conflict, use the source link and contact the club before relying on the detail. Report the inconsistency so it can be resolved in YouSail. We do not silently choose a preferred club fact based on an external website.

City and waterway directories#

Local pages select records using the state and suburb supplied by YouSail. Each page explains its selected area. A recorded address may be an administrative address rather than a launching point, and a selection is not a complete register of all organisations sailing nearby.

Related club links help readers compare other records. They are not ratings or confirmation of equivalent facilities, programs or sailing conditions.

Sources for educational guidance#

For program explanations, equipment specifications and health or safety background, we link the relevant governing body, class association or public authority. These references support editorial guidance; they do not replace the YouSail club database.

We do not claim a named expert reviewed an article unless that review has actually occurred. The publisher is SailingClubs.com.au; a publisher credit is not a professional qualification.

Corrections and ranking#

Use the correction process to report a source inconsistency, outdated detail or editorial error. Include the affected URL and the evidence you found. Club-data corrections belong in YouSail so they can flow through future imports.

The directory does not award quality ratings. A listed organisation, photograph or positive facility field is not an endorsement or a booking confirmation. Compare the specific activity, current costs and access requirements for your own sailing plans.
